Theology Lesson FOR KIDS #14:

God Made the World
Our next series of lessons is from chapter 3, "Creator and Ruler of All."  These lessons will focus on God and our world.  To start Dr. Ware reviews that God made the world.  He again shows that it was God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit who made the world.  He emphasis all parts of the trinity as one creating the world.  Because we just concluded chapter two, which taught each part of the trinity, I will not go back to review each role although if you missed any of these lessons click below to be redirected!

"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." Hebrews 11:3

In order for us, as people, to create something we need materials or tools.  We cannot simply speak something into existence as God did.  This is a difficult truth for us and children to understand yet Dr. Ware uses this opportunity to explain that is what FAITH is.  He shares,

"So we must believe this teaching of the Bible simply because God has told us that this is how he made the world.  We cannot understand it-not really-but we know it is true because God has the power to create in this way and because he has told us that this is how he did it.  We believe in God's power, and we trust in God's truthfulness, and so we believe the Bible's teaching.  Yes, God created all things out of nothing as he spoke them into being."

Stayed tuned for next week's lesson, "God Rules the World He Has Made."

More General Ideas for Teaching Theology to Children...
  • Pray that the Lord would give you wisdom and understanding as you seek to honor Him in the teaching and training of your children.
  • Pray that God would open the eyes of your child's HEART that they would EMBRACE the gospel not just KNOW the content intellectually (see this related post).
